Why It Matters
Across many parts of Africa, millions of people — including young children — are required to walk several miles every single day just to collect clean water. This daily struggle impacts their ability to attend school, stay healthy, and live safely.
The Water Walk Challenge combines physical activity, community engagement, and meaningful reflection. By taking part, you won't only raise vital funds — you'll gain a deeper understanding of this reality. Every step you take contributes towards sustainable clean water solutions like water wells and irrigation systems, transforming the lives of those most in need.
Victoria Park car park, Leicester. The first Water Campaign launches here on 18 July.
A guided 10km walk through Leicester city centre, following pedestrian routes and scenic canal pathways.
Each participant raises a minimum of £100 through friends, family, and their wider networks.
Families, children, and members of the local community in Leicester — everyone is welcome.
Refreshments and light snacks are provided to keep participants energised along the way.
On The Day
Walk together in friendly, organised groups led by our team throughout the route.
Planned stops along the way so families and children can rest and regroup comfortably.
Short, uplifting Islamic reminders at key checkpoints to reinforce the purpose of the walk.
All funds raised support Droplets of Mercy UK's clean water projects — helping provide sustainable access to safe drinking water for communities in need, like Sudan and beyond.
